This Shirotake bamboo knitting needle set in a stylish storage case by Seeknit will certainly give you years of knitting fun. The Shirotake knitting and crochet hooks from the Japanese family business Kinki Amibari are made of natural-coloured and sustainable bamboo. They are polished smooth with natural plant wax, which not only gives them a brilliant shine, but also a wonderfully soft feel - and the stitches glide extremely smoothly on and off the needle. The bamboo needles have a pointed tip and the needle sizes have been lasered onto the needle and are clearly visible. The cotton storage pouch has a double row of transparent pockets (12 narrow pockets at the front, 6 wide ones at the back), in which not only the double pointed needles from this set fit, but also offer room for crochet hooks or double pointed needles. Both the Shirotake and Koshitsu needles are made with bamboo, but the finish is different. The surface of the Shirotake series has a smooth finish with natural plant wax, which gives the needles a beautiful shine. Further, they feel wonderful to the touch. On the other hand, the needles in the Koshitsu series undergo a high-pressure and heat treatment. The surface is then smoothed with natural plant wax. This special treatment ensures that the needles are extra strong and durable and protects them against harmful external influences. In addition, this prevents the wood from warping. The result is a comfortable and smooth knitting experience with needles that feel wonderfully warm to the touch.
