Dressmaker's interfacing, or iron-on batting is a fusible interfacing that helps to stabilize fabrics in cuffs, lapels, collars and pocket openings. You can also use it for reinforcing patchwork and quilting. The interfacing can easily be ironed on, and it is available in black or white, and in various sizes and lenghts. Interfacing provides stability and stiffness as required. As a brand name, it is also known as Vlieseline.
