Product Description
Jacquard produces high-quality and professional dyes for all sorts of fabrics and textiles. Jacquard’s acid dye can be used for dyeing wool and other animal fibres such as feathers and silk, but it is also suitable for dyeing nylon. This product is perfect if you want to dye skeins of wool yarn for instance, because it gives a perfectly clear and colorfast result. This acid dye consists of only two ingredients: highly concentrated powdered dye and inert salt. You can easily mix the acid dye with water. In order for the colours to adhere well to the fibers and ensure colour fastness, acid dye needs an acidic environment. That is why you need to add citric acid or vinegar during the dyeing process.
Jacquard’s acid dye gets absorbed well into the fibres. You do not have to worry about the colours fading or bleeding during washing. It may also be used for direct painting or printing applications, when selecting the steam setting on your iron. Jacquard’s acid dye is available in many different beautiful colours. One jar contains 14 grams of dye powder. Detailed instructions on dyeing with Jacquard’s acid dye can be downloaded from SERVICE under the heading Downloads on the webshop.
Are you looking for a starter set for dyeing wool and other animal fibres? Jacquard’s acid dye is also available in a set with 4 jars and 450 grams of citric acid (item no. F-JAC600S).
