Product Description

Make a craft enthusiast happy with this beautiful gift set from Cohana consisting of a Kokeshi pincushion, a Mizuhiki needle threader and a wooden thread spool.

The needle case with pincushion is disguised as a traditional Japanese Kokeshi, a wooden doll with no arms or legs and with simple features. The top of the tube can be unscrewed, after which the woollen pincushion and the 3 Meboso needles become visible. In fact, wool prevents needles from rusting quickly. Thanks to a magnet on the bottom, fallen needles can be quickly picked up again. The Kokeshi is handmade from Mizuki wood (dogwood), is handpainted, 90mm high and has a diameter of 30mm. The 3 Meboso needles are 36.4mm long and 0.71mm thick.

The Mizuhiki needle threader is decorated with a traditional braided knot. Mizuhiki is an old Japanese art form used for gift wrapping, in which a decorative paper cord is created by twisting washi paper. The knot is shaped like a plum blossom, a flower that is full of symbolism. It’s said to bring good luck, establish close bonds and ward off evil. The needle threader is 4.2cm long and 2.8cm wide.

The wood-carved thread spool with white polyester thread completes this set.
